High-rise building solutions

Next month we will be attending the World Congress of CTBUH in Chicago in 28 October to 02 November, celebrating the 50th anniversary of CTBUH. Aliaxis as Silver sponsors of the event look forward to seeing you there.

Aliaxis High-Rise is a proud member of CTBUH, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. We are excited for these events as opportunities to meet with high-rise experts from all over the world on different fields, and contribute with our expertise on plumbing solutions for tall buildings.

In the coming weeks, the annual Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) Asia will be taking place, in September 4-6 2019, in the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. This is a major gathering for the engineering community for energy-efficient solutions in MEP and Renewable Energy.

We are excited to share that Steve White from Aliaxis High-Rise will be participating, with a session on Friday (Sep 6) to present Studor Active Drainage Ventilation solutions.

Aliaxis will also be present with our local brands SNOW and Paling, and our representatives will be happy to present our plumbing solutions for tall buildings.

On June 21st Durman Guatemala, an Aliaxis company, organised its first conference at the Cámara Guatemalteca de la Construcción, to present and discuss relevant topics in the design and engineering of solutions for high-rise buildings.

Over 20 specialists in the design, engineering and regulation of high-rise buildings attended this conference and exchanged ideas and opinions on the latest design and technology for high-rise water solutions.

The agenda included the following presentations – speakers:

• Drainage: Studor Active Drainage Ventilation –  Marzio Malaguti and Daniel Rath from Aliaxis High-Rise Building Solutions
• Rainwater: Akasison Siphonic Drainage – Luis García from Aliaxis – Durman Guatemala
• Water supply: Durman Rise and FlowGuard Gold – Samuel Entebi from Lubrizol
• Fire protection: BlazeMaster – Samuel Entebi from Lubrizol

Thank you to all attendants for the great participation and engagement. These occasions allow us to closely collaborate with the local high-rise building community to offer solutions targeted to local needs.

On May 8th, Aliaxis signed a 3-year research agreement with the Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh (UK). Heriot Watt University has built up over the years a reputation as the most knowledgeable scientific institute in the world in the field of building drainage systems.

The purpose of this scientific research is to understand how trap seals can be better protected in high-rise drainage systems. Trap seals are essential for securing the comfort (prevent unpleasant smells) and health & safety (prevent cross-contamination of viruses) in drainage systems of tall buildings. The scope of the project will be both conventional (passive) drainage technology and innovative (active) drainage technology.

Studor, which Aliaxis acquired in 2017, has developed the concept of Active Drainage Ventilation based on their scientific research on the influence of “transient pressures” on the trap seals in a tall building. This new research agreement will help us further develop and strengthen our technical leadership in High-Rise Buildings.
